European immigrants to the Mountain planted deciduous trees which reminded them of home decades ago, creating tiny patches of Northern Hemisphere seasons tucked away in the rainforest. The best time of year to visit to see this display is April and May, just as Autumn begins in Australia. Tamborine Mountain Botanic Gardens

The Tamborine Mountain Botanic Gardens are an amazing collection of Old Growth Eucalypts, manicured gardens and a Japanese Maple Display. There's so many distinct spots in the gardens for amazing photos, from the traditional Japanese gardens to the cobblestone bridge over a gorgeous lake.

Tip: Unlike our National Parks, the Botanic Gardens close at dusk, so be aware of this when planning timing!
